Resident Evil 4 Remake stores its cheats inside the in-game challenge system. You earn infinite ammo and bonus weapons by completing specific tasks. No mods or external tools are required on any platform.
HOW TO UNLOCK INFINITE AMMO
Infinite ammo requires Spinels, the in-game currency earned from side quests and merchant trades.
You unlock infinite ammo per weapon separately through the Extra Content Shop.
The Extra Content Shop opens after completing the game once on any difficulty.
Infinite Ammo costs per weapon:
Handgun (SG-09): 10 Spinels
Shotgun (W-870): 10 Spinels
Submachine Gun (TMP): 10 Spinels
Rifle (CQBR Assault Rifle): 20 Spinels
Rocket Launcher (Rocket Launcher): 30 Spinels
Knife (Combat Knife): 5 Spinels
You earn Spinels by completing merchant requests posted as notes throughout each chapter.
A full first playthrough with all requests completed gives 70 to 90 Spinels total.
This covers infinite ammo for your handgun, shotgun, and knife immediately after finishing the game.
HIDDEN WEAPON LOCATIONS
Chicago Sweeper (Submachine Gun):
Complete Assignment Ada (separate Mercenaries scenario) with an A rank or higher.
The Chicago Sweeper has the highest fire rate of any weapon in the game.
Handcannon:
Complete Mercenaries mode with all five characters achieving a 5-star rating.
The Handcannon deals one-shot kill damage to all standard enemies at full upgrade.
Primal Knife (Unbreakable):
Destroy all 16 Clockwork Castellan dolls hidden throughout the main game chapters.
The Primal Knife never breaks, eliminating the need to repair your knife at the merchant.
SPINEL FARMING FOR EXTRA RUNS
On New Game Plus, all merchant requests reset.
Complete all requests again on your second playthrough for a second full set of Spinels.
Two full playthroughs give 140 to 180 Spinels total.
This covers infinite ammo for every weapon in the game.
S RANK REQUIREMENTS
S rank requires completing the game within a specific time limit.
Standard difficulty S rank time limit: 15 hours.
Hardcore difficulty S rank time limit: 10 hours.
Professional difficulty S rank time limit: 5 hours 30 minutes.
Tips for faster completion:
Skip all cutscenes on subsequent playthroughs. Cutscene time counts toward your total.
Do not craft ammo. Carry enough resources to craft when needed but avoid pre-crafting.
Skip optional merchant shops after chapter 3 once you have your core weapons upgraded.
Use the Riot Gun (shotgun) for crowd control instead of grenades. Grenades take more time to set up.
S RANK REWARDS
Standard S rank: Alternate costume for Leon.
Hardcore S rank: Chicago Sweeper submachine gun (same as Assignment Ada S rank).
Professional S rank: All in-game challenges completed checkbox and the Handcannon accessory charm.
