Monster Hunter World rewards players who know which monsters to farm, which weapons to prioritize, and how the game's hidden mechanics work. PC players also get access to a cheat engine table for resource farming.
FASTEST ZENNY FARMING METHODS
Zenny is the primary currency in Monster Hunter World. These methods give the best return per hour.
Farming Plunderblade:
Equip the Plunderblade Palico gadget before any hunt.
The Plunderblade steals extra materials from monsters during the hunt.
Each stolen material sells for 500 to 3,000 Zenny.
A single Tempered Elder Dragon hunt with Plunderblade returns 50,000 to 80,000 Zenny in materials.
High Rank Investigation Farming:
Complete High Rank Investigations instead of standard quests.
Investigations have bonus reward slots (up to 6 reward slots versus the standard 3).
Target Investigations for Nergigante, Teostra, and Kushala Daora. These monsters drop the highest-value materials.
Melding Pot Method:
Meld excess decorations you do not need at the Melding Pot.
Each melded decoration gives you Research Points.
Spend Research Points on Tickets that sell for 3,000 to 8,000 Zenny each.
PC CHEAT ENGINE TABLE
Download the Monster Hunter World Cheat Table from Nexus Mods (search MHW CT).
Load it with Cheat Engine while the game runs.
Available cheats:
- Infinite Health
- Infinite Stamina
- Infinite Zenny
- Item Count Modifier (set any item to 99)
- Max Research Points
- Fast Quest Timer
Always use cheats in offline mode or private sessions. Using them in public lobbies affects other players.
BEST WEAPONS FOR NEW PLAYERS
Long Sword: Highest win rate among new players. The Spirit Blade combo deals consistent damage without needing precise positioning.
Charge Blade: Highest damage ceiling in the game once mastered. Takes 10 to 15 hours to learn fully.
Bow: Strong at range, easy to learn, and covers all monster weaknesses with elemental arrows.
Hammer: Deals KO damage to monster heads. Simple button inputs. Best for learning monster patterns.
ICEBORNE PROGRESSION GUIDE
Master Rank unlocks after completing the base game story.
Do not try to farm decorations before Master Rank. Iceborne introduces Melding that makes base game decoration farming inefficient.
Master Rank priority order:
1. Reach MR 3 and fight Banbaro. His armor gives Cold Resistance for snowy areas.
2. Reach MR 6 and fight Brachydios. His armor gives Agitator skill, which boosts attack on enraged monsters.
3. Reach MR 24 and fight Barioth. His armor gives Maximum Might skill for bow and ranged builds.
4. Farm Shara Ishvalda at MR 50 for the Safi Awakening system unlock.
DECORATION AND SKILL PRIORITY
These skills give the highest damage increase per decoration slot:
Attack Boost (level 7): Plus 10 percent raw damage.
Critical Eye (level 7): Plus 30 percent affinity.
Weakness Exploit (level 3): Plus 50 percent affinity on weak points.
Critical Boost (level 3): Increases critical hit damage from 125 percent to 140 percent.
Get these four skills on your armor before optimizing anything else.
