Baldurs Gate 3 on PC supports a full cheat system through the Script Extender and Cheat Menu mod. Console versions do not support mods, but the game includes several built-in exploits worth knowing.
INSTALLING BG3 SCRIPT EXTENDER AND CHEAT MENU
1. Download BG3 Script Extender from the official GitHub repository (Norbyte/bg3se).
2. Place the files in your BG3 installation folder.
Default path: C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Baldurs Gate 3/bin/
3. Download the Cheat Menu mod from Nexus Mods.
4. Install it using BG3 Mod Manager.
5. Launch the game. Press F1 to open the Cheat Menu overlay.
AVAILABLE CHEAT MENU FUNCTIONS
Gold and Resources:
- Add gold: Type any amount directly into the gold field.
- Add camp supplies: Increases your long rest resource pool.
- Add spell scrolls: Any spell in the game added to your inventory.
Character Stats:
- Set ability scores to any value (maximum 20 for standard, 30 for legendary items).
- Add proficiency to any skill without class requirements.
- Reset spell slots without long resting.
World Functions:
- Teleport party to cursor position.
- Toggle permanent invisibility.
- Skip dialogue sequences.
- Force pass any dice roll.
BUILT-IN EXPLOITS (ALL PLATFORMS)
Infinite Potions via Trader Reset:
1. Buy all potions from any trader.
2. Long rest.
3. The trader restocks their full inventory.
4. Repeat for unlimited potions without gold cost if you have the Barter skill proficiency.
Pickpocket Loop:
1. Save before pickpocketing any NPC.
2. Attempt the pickpocket.
3. If caught, reload the save.
4. Repeat until successful.
This works on every NPC in the game including traders.
Hireling Multiclass Exploit:
Hire a hireling from Withers for 100 gold.
Respec the hireling to any class combination you need for your party.
Dismiss and rehire hirelings to get a fresh respec for 100 gold each time.
This costs 100 gold per respec instead of the standard 100 gold at Withers for your main character.
BEST BUILDS FOR PATCH 7
Tavern Brawler Monk:
Dip one level in Fighter for Action Surge.
Take Tavern Brawler feat at level 4.
Stack Strength to 20 and use Unarmed Strikes.
Damage output: 4d6 plus Strength modifier per attack at level 12.
This build clears every combat encounter in the game including Honor Mode.
Shadow Sorcerer:
Take Sorcerer to level 12 with the Shadow Magic subclass.
Use Twinned Spell metamagic with Haste on two party members each combat.
Combine with Shadow Step for free teleportation every turn.
Best for players who prefer controlling encounters over dealing direct damage.
GOLD FARMING WITHOUT MODS
Sell duplicate camp supplies to traders. You accumulate hundreds passively.
Complete all Illithid parasite checks for bonus XP and trader discounts.
Loot every container in dungeon areas. Containers respawn after long rests in some locations.
The Zhentarim Basement in Act 1 contains a locked room with 2,000 gold and rare items behind a DC 20 Sleight of Hand check.
