Animal Crossing New Horizons does not have traditional cheat codes. The game includes a time travel exploit, bell farming loops, and Nook Miles methods that let you progress at any pace you choose.
TIME TRAVEL EXPLOIT
Time travel changes your Nintendo Switch system clock to move your island forward or backward in time.
How to time travel forward:
1. Close Animal Crossing completely.
2. Go to Switch Settings, System, Date and Time.
3. Disable Synchronise Clock via Internet.
4. Set the date forward by one day.
5. Open Animal Crossing. Your island advances one full day.
What time travel gives you:
- Daily Nook Miles+ tasks reset each day you travel.
- Shops restock their inventory.
- Turnips planted before traveling gain a new price each day.
- Trees planted yesterday are fully grown.
- Fossils and balloon presents respawn.
What time travel costs you:
- Turnips rot if you travel backward at any point after buying them.
- Villagers comment on your absence if you skip more than 15 days.
- Weeds grow exponentially if you skip large amounts of time.
FASTEST BELL FARMING METHODS
Stalk Market (Turnips):
Buy turnips from Daisy Mae on Sunday mornings for 90 to 110 bells each.
Check your selling price at Nook's Cranny twice daily, morning and afternoon.
Prices above 400 bells per turnip give 3x to 4x returns on your investment.
Use the Turnip Prophet website to predict your price pattern from the first four prices.
Money Rock Method:
Each island has one Money Rock per day.
Hit a rock eight times in quick succession to get the maximum bell output.
Dig holes behind yourself in an L-shape before hitting the rock. This prevents knockback and guarantees all eight hits.
A fully exploited Money Rock gives 16,100 bells per day.
Bell Tree Method:
Find a glowing spot on your island each day.
Dig it up to get 1,000 bells.
Plant 10,000 bells in the hole instead of the standard amount.
The tree grows and produces three bags of 10,000 bells each for a 30,000 bell return.
You invest 10,000 and receive 30,000. Net profit: 20,000 bells per day.
NOOK MILES FARMING
Complete all five daily Nook Miles+ tasks before doing anything else each session.
Daily tasks give 300 to 500 Nook Miles per completion.
Each task has a streak multiplier. Completing tasks 7 days in a row doubles the base reward.
Use Nook Miles tickets to visit mystery islands for rare villagers and resources.
RARE VILLAGER METHODS
You get a villager offer each time you use a Nook Miles Ticket to visit a mystery island.
The villager pool contains all 397 villagers at equal probability.
To target a specific villager, check villager trading boards like Nookazon.
Most popular villagers trade for 1 to 5 Nook Miles Tickets on community boards.
ISLAND LAYOUT TIPS
Place your Resident Services building at the center of your island before inviting your third villager.
Once Resident Services upgrades to a building, you cannot move it.
Keep your shops and airport in a cluster near the beach for fast access.
Use inclines and bridges sparingly. Each one costs 98,000 bells and 3 days to build.
