Among Us does not support cheat codes. Players who consistently win as both Impostor and Crewmate do so by understanding the task system, kill timing, and voting psychology that most players ignore.
OPTIMAL GAME SETTINGS FOR COMPETITIVE PLAY
These settings create the most balanced and skill-rewarding games:
Player Count: 8 to 10 players.
Impostor Count: 2 Impostors.
Kill Cooldown: 25 seconds.
Discussion Time: 15 seconds.
Voting Time: 45 seconds.
Task Bar Updates: Always.
Visual Tasks: On.
Anonymous Votes: Off.
Confirm Ejects: On.
With these settings, the Crewmate team wins 55 to 60 percent of games when players communicate well.
IMPOSTOR STRATEGY GUIDE
Kill timing:
Kill at the moment another player leaves a room. Witnesses cannot report if they are mid-walk.
Never kill during a task animation. Visual tasks confirm that player as Crewmate to everyone in the room.
Wait 5 to 8 seconds after your kill cooldown ends before killing. Immediate kills after the timer suggest Impostor activity to experienced players.
Alibi building:
Stand near other players during the first 30 seconds of each round.
Enter Medbay and pretend to do the scan task. Other players watching assume you completed a task.
Call emergency meetings as Impostor only when a Crewmate is about to win through tasks or when you need to shift suspicion.
Venting usage:
Use vents to relocate after kills, not to kill. Players remember seeing you enter a room.
Vent from one side of the map to the other between meetings to create a false alibi.
Never vent when another player is in the same room.
CREWMATE TASK PRIORITY
Complete short tasks first. Short tasks finish in under 5 seconds and give the team Task Bar progress fastest.
Always do visual tasks (Card Swipe, Empty Garbage, Clear Asteroids) in front of other players. This confirms your Crewmate status visually.
Do not follow other players. Following creates suspicion and wastes your task time.
Complete your task list in a logical geographic order. Start in one section of the map and work outward.
VOTING STRATEGY
Report every body immediately. Delayed reporting is a common Impostor behavior.
Track player locations between meetings. If a player was in Electrical and a body appeared in Electrical, their vote pattern matters.
Vote with the majority when you have no information. Early incorrect votes hurt Crewmates more than Impostors.
Watch for players who skip votes consistently. Skipping removes responsibility and benefits the Impostor team.
In late game (3 players remaining), always vote. A wrong vote with 3 players left creates a 50-50 chance. Not voting guarantees a loss.
HIDE AND SEEK MODE TIPS
Hide and Seek gives the Impostor a visible role indicator and a speed boost.
Crewmates win by completing all tasks before the Impostor kills everyone.
Crewmate survival tips:
Stay in rooms with multiple exits. Single-exit rooms trap you.
Complete tasks in order of distance from your spawn point. Minimize travel time.
Watch the Impostor's position on the Admin map at all times.
Impostor tips:
Move at medium speed, not maximum speed. Full sprint speed causes players to scatter and hide.
Target players who are mid-task. They cannot move while completing a task.
